Two customs offices to be open 24/7 on Iranian-Azerbaijani border

Iranian Customs Chief Masoud Karbasian will arrive in Azerbaijan today. He will meet with Head of the Azerbaijani State Committee Aydyn Aliyev, Minister for Economy and Industry Shakhin Mustafayev, Minister for Emergencies Kyamaleddin Heydarov and other officials. Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsin Pakayin said that the sides will discuss operating customs offices in Astara and Bilesuar 24/7, Trend reports.


The agreement on the new regime of operation was reached at an inter-governmental commission in August.
The visit of the Iranian delegation to Azerbaijan will continue until October 2.


Azerbaijan and Iran plan to sign a new customs agreement. The previous one was signed in 2002. Azerbaijan and Iran have the following customs offices: Bilesuvar, Shakhtakhty-Poldesht, Astara and Julfa. The Aslanduz-Horadiz office will open soon.
