2,000 Dagestanis to join Russian Armed Forces

2,000 Dagestanies, including 600 from Makhachkala, will start military service in Russia this autumn. Fewer were enlisted in Makhachkala in 2013 because the military were switching to a contract service, according to Murtuz Idrisov, the chief enlistment officer of Makhachkala, ITAR-TASS reports.

Dagestan has 12,700 young people for enlistment, only 2,000 of them will be enlisted. About 1,000 were enlisted in Dagestan last year.
