Russian MP proposes new draft system
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAlexey Zhuravlev, a United Russia member of the Russian Duma committee for defense, wants to replace the two-draft system with one draft a year to reduce bullying in the army and enlistment expenses, RIA Novosti reports.
Vyacheslav Teterkin, a CPRF member of the committee, believes that the measure would reduce expenses. Sergey Zhigarev, deputy head of the committee, a member of the LDPR, said that enlisting all conscripts at the same time would make the process more expensive. He denied the existence of bullying in the army.
