Russia to recheck migrants' language skills

Labour migrants in Russia need to show knowledge of the Russian language, history and law. Vladimir Shaposhnikov, a member of the Public Chamber commission for harmonization of interethnic issues, said that there were many complaints about the speech skills of migrants, Izvestia reports.
The working group will collect complaints about poor knowledge of the Russian language, test migrants and locate centers with low-quality testing. The group will start work in autumn. Officials of the FMS, Education and Science Ministry and Rosobrnadzor were invited to join it.
