Karachayevsk ex-mayor remains free

The Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia has rejected the prosecutors' appeal against release of Karachayevsk ex-Mayor Soltan Semenov, TASS reports.

Semenov was charged with wasting 19.5 million rubles granted for road construction in February 2013. The Karachayevsk City Court declared him innocent. Prosecutors demanded a fine of 300,000 rubles for the suspect.
