On October 15-16th the fourth Russian-Georgian International Media Forum “Media in the context of global crises” will take place.

Representatives of the leading mass media and experts from Russia, Israel, Ukraine and Azerbaijan will conduct training and workshops for Georgian colleagues on using modern information technologies and creating multimedia content.

Speakers at professional workshops, lectures and discussion panels at the Forum are Maxim Shevchenko, a TV journalist, the editor-in-chief of Kavkazskaya Politika; Yaroslav Skvortsov, the dean of the Journalism Department of MGIMO; Matthew Alexeyev, the director of Rambler Foreign Communication Service; Marina Ahmedova, an analyst of Russian Reporter Magazine; Alexander Tsinker, the president of the International Expert Center of Voting Systems (Israel); Yevgeny Kopatko, a sociologist, the director of a company for marketing and sociological studies – Research Branding Group (Ukraine); Yelena Davydova, the head of the directorate of state projects of MIA Russia Today; and other experts in the media sphere.

At the round-table discussion “Media in the context of global crises” Russian and Georgian experts will discuss acute problems of the political, economic and humanitarian development of the South Caucasus in the context of current geopolitical transformations and the specificity of traditional media and “new media” in the context of global and regional crises.

On the last day of the Forum an essay contest will be announced. According to its results, the best journalists of the South Caucasus, including Georgians, will have an opportunity to participate in the regional School of Young Journalists of the South Caucasus in Moscow at the end of 2014.

As a result of the fourth Russian-Georgian media forum, its participants will be issued with special certificates.

We invite young Georgian journalists (Age: 20-30; Experience: working in the mass media) to take part in the Media Forum from the 14th to 16th of October in the conference hall of the Ambassador Hotel and the press center of IA News Georgia. The working language is Russian.

Registration deadline is October 12th, 2014.
