Doctor of Philosophy Eliza Ismailova, member of the board of the World
Congress of Azerbaijanis and executive director of the Coordination
Council of the Congress, has been released, APA reports, citing the
congress’s press-service.

Ismailova went to Tebriz on September 22 for a medical examination to
her father-in-law, Ali Gasanzade. The police requested Ismailova to
visit their department, due to technical problems with her passport.
The General Consulate of Azerbaijan in Tebriz was informed about the
problem and after it was resolved, Ismailova was released.

The congress denied rumors spread by media about Ismailova’s
kidnapping and about the staff of the Ministry of Information and
Security arresting her without reason.
