Russian foreign minister comments on Caspian pipeline construction

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the five Caspian countries should decide on construction of pipelines together in order to protect the sea's ecology. He reminded that there was a convention on ecological security and a document for preservation of biological resources, TASS reports.

Lavrov noted that there were attempts by EU functionaries to affect the decisions of the Caspian states.
