Turkish railway infrastructure to be privatized

Turkish Minister for Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Lutfi Elvan said that privatization of Turkey’s railway infrastructure will start in 2015. He noted that over 90% of railways had been reconstructed, Trend reports.

The National Railway Company of Turkey (TCDD) said that Turkish railways will have been extended to a total of 25,000km by 2023. Turkish railways currently cover 8,600km.
