Fire continues on Krasnodar Territory’s Achishkho Ridge for second day

 

The forest fire that started on the Achishkho Ridge (Adler District, Krasnodar Territory) on Thursday as a result of careless use of fire continues. Rescuers have contained the fire but halted their work during the night, according to Vladimir Yurov, spokesman of Kuban-SPAS, Interfax reports.Wet snow fell in highland areas on Friday morning, but the fire continues in some areas. Firefighters were taken to a height of 2300 meters by helicopter. Rescuers are expected to put the remaining fire out and join forest keepers working in lower part of the forests.
