CIS defense ministers gather in Moscow

Moscow is hosting the CIS Council of Defense Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The defense ministers of Moldova, Ukraine and Turkmenistan are not attending the Council this year, TASS reports.

Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergey Shoygu, reminded at the opening of the Council of Defense Ministers that joint work of CIS members in strengthening security and development of cooperation was highly rated at the recent session of the CIS Council of Heads of States, In his words, development of relations in defenses was focused on improvement of mutual trust and preservation of good-neighbourly relations and development of national forces.
