Kazakhstan is ready to host an international nuclear fuel bank under the auspices of the IAEA and to ensure the fuel's safe storage, declared the country's Foreign Minister, Kanat Saudabayev, addressing the 65th Session of UN General Assembly, the official UN site says.

"We believe that it is extremely important to begin, as soon as possible, the drafting of an international legally binding instrument providing security assurances by nuclear powers to non-nuclear-weapon States", - said Mr Saudabayev. The Minister also proposed to establish new nuclear-weapon free zone, including in the Middle East.

Mr Saudabayev, the current OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, invited President Obama to participate in the OSCE summit scheduled for December 1-2 in Astana on behalf of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The summit is due to work out efficient mechanisms of conflict prevention.
