Turkmen gas shipments to Ukraine will hit Russian interests

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline was a project with impact on Russian interests. He reminded that the European Commission was the stimulator of the project, TASS reports.Lavrov reminded that Russia made it clear to Brussels that only Caspian states could resolve issues round the Caspian Sea. In his words, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan had understanding of Russia’s positions when planning to build pipelines under the sea. He said that the sea needed to be given a status before any such project could be started.
