CIS prime ministers gather in Ashkhabad

Ashkhabad has opened a session of the Council of CIS Heads of Government. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Turkmenistan yesterday. Attendees of the meeting will discuss 19 topics and 30 documents. The topics include the economic development of CIS countries, nuclear security, humanitarian problems, tourism, budgets and finances.

Moreover, the sides will consider realization of the free trade zone agreement, pass the CIS concept of nuclear and radiation security, a report of the Intergovernmental Council for Exploration, Exploitation and Protection of Resources in 2011-2013, a report on competition and pricing on the oil and petroleum market composed by the Interstate Council for Anti-Monopoly Policy, financing of the plan for realization of the main lines of further development of socio-economic aid and improvement of living standards of war veterans and their families in 2015, formation of CIS joint anti-air defenses.

CIS countries plan to pass a plan of priority actions in 2015-2016, pass a plan of events in 2015-2017 within the framework of realization of the strategy for development of cooperation of CIS countries in tourism.

The MEPhI National Research Nuclear University, the National Research Technological University of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and the All-Russian Gerasimov State University of Cinematography will gain the status of basic organizations of the CIS.
