Singer Joseph Kobzon does not need title of People’s Singer of Ukraine

Joseph Kobzon, a people’s Artist of the USSR, RSFSR and Ukraine, wants to give up his title of People’s Singer of Ukraine. He wants to send the message using mass media, without giving official notification to the Ukrainian authorities, Gazeta.ru reports.

“They did not contact me when they deprived me of honorary citizen’s status in Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava. Why should I contact them?” Kobzon asked.
