Expert on Russian-Turkish cooperation in the sphere of energy

On December 1st Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to pay an official visit to Turkey. Putin is going to meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in order to discuss mutual cooperation in the spheres of economy and politics.

President Putin has already noted his satisfaction with Turkey's decision to resume close ties with Russia despite EU sanctions against the country.

Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the current state of affairs in Russian-Turkish relations with energy expert Mehmet Kara.

According to Kara, Russia and Turkey are both interested in successful bilateral ties in the economic sphere.

Russian companies which enter the Turkish market secure high market competition, which leads to quicker economic development, while Russia is interested in Turkey as a possible deliverer of its energy resources, he explained.
