“Optics to every home” project will start in 2015

The Ministry for Communication and High Technologies of Azerbaijan plans to launch the project “Optics to every home” in 2015. Deputy Minister for Communication and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh said that the State Oil Fund will grant finances for the project. The project will take 3 years, its first results will be available in a year, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.The official noted that the ministry had prepared proposals on extension of electronic signature usage in the republic. All Azerbaijani citizens may get electronic signatures in a year if the project succeeds.The project will focus on development of broadband Internet (ADSL). The final goal is to cover 85% of the country with broadband Internet connection (10-100Mb/s), advancing Azerbaijan to the level of the most developed countries of the world.
