The Dagestani University buys equipments for nanoreasearches, and Dagestani projects move to Sochi.
The Dagestani University is planning to buy a unique outfit for scanning and probing microscopy from the South Florida University in the USA. An alumnus of the faculty of Physics of the Dagestani University, doctor of Physics, and now a researcher at the Nanotechnologies center of the South Florida University, Yusuf Emirov, explained the details of work of scanning and probing microscopy.
During his recent trip to Dagestan he met with the specialists and students of the Dagestani University, the Dagestani Technological University, and the Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dagestani research center. Yusuf Emirov teaches scientists from different countries how to work with these machines, and also makes his own researches. As Emirov stated, the scientists of the South Florida university work on over 60 projects. The Dagestani University is planning to buy one of these equipment complexes to teach and make researches on structure and features of nanomaterials. The machinery for scanning and probing microscopy allows working on features at the molecular level. It can operate with atoms, move them, as people move furniture or pack their stuff. For this atoms' attractive force, electric and magnetic forces are needful. Atomic-force microscope gives a possibility to study microcircuitry of all newest techniques.
Answering a journalist of VK about fields where it could be used Yusuf Emirov gave an example: "For instance your phone is full of chips.
Each of them consists of hundreds of layers. Using this microscope it is possible to analyze each of these layers. That is how you create new materials. They are used as in biological as in many other projects.
Meanwhile the perspective Dagestani projects are presented at the IX International investment forum Sochi 2010. A delegation led by the head of the republic, Magomedsalam Magomedov, presented 44 investment projects and 104 business projects which were placed on the territory of 104 square meters.
Only most perspective projects were selected for the exhibition, some of them are already being realized, for example, constructing of IT-park for modern radio equipment development in Makhachkala, or "Aviaagregat" Russian-Chinese plant producing up to 30 thousand of cars.
In the agricultural sphere a project of wine-growing complex "Gerei-Tyuz" in Karadubakhkent is exhibited. The "Kizlyaragrocomplex" company is building one more livestock complex of 2400 cows in the Kizlyar district.
"Dagfos" is projecting a large-capacity production of sulfuric acid and its products, first of all, phosphates including fodder precipitate.
The Caspian sheet glass factory presented a project of glass producing by float method.
