Kazakhstan backs Ukraine's independence

Kazakh Deputy Foreign Ministry Alexey Volkov has voiced his country's support of Ukraine's independence, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports on Friday.

"Kazakhstan pays special attention to its relations with Ukraine. We maintain close economic and humanitarian ties," Volkov said, while addressing a meeting of foreign ministers of the OSCE member-states held in Basel, Switzerland.

"We want Ukraine to be a sovereign, independent and stable state," he said.
