Iran has developed own hepatitis B diagnosing

Abdolreza Ardeshiri, a member of the board of the Bonyakhteh Center of the Shahid Beheshti University, said that Iranian specialists have developed their own kits for diagnosing hepatitis B, which will be available on the market in the next Iranian year (after March 21), Mehr News reports.

Only two countries produce kits to diagnose hepatitis B. Iran imports them from Russia for $3,200 per kit, the Iranian analogue will cost around $550.

Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by HBV. Chronic hepatitis B increases the risk of liver failure, cancer or cirrhosis.
