UN assistant secretary-general to assess human rights situation in UkraineUN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, Ivan Simonovic will leave for Ukraine on Thursday to assess the human rights situation in the country, Itar Tass reports.The visit will last till December 15, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said.Simonovic will meet with several Ukrainian officials and representatives of the civil society. He is also expected to make a trip to eastern Ukraine.
