Tusk: EU needs a strategy in relations with Russia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAt the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the 28 EU countries, chaired by the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk said that clarity in the relationship between the EU and Russia determines the prospect of resolving the crisis in Ukraine.
"The EU must create a clear, firm and consistent strategy in relations with Russia, without which the prospect of settling of situation in Ukraine does not have a long-term solution," Tusk was quoted by TASS. At the same time, according to Tusk, the formation of this strategy should come from Brussels' intention to support a "sovereign, stable and upgraded Ukraine."
General discussion on the principle of further relations with Russia will be one of the issues of the summit, which opens in the Belgian capital. Heads of state are also going to discuss serious risks to the European economy in the event of a full-fledged economic crisis in Russia.
