Hamas test-fires rocket in direction of Mediterranean Sea

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that militants from the Palestinian Hamas movement carried out training, launching several rockets from Gaza towards the Mediterranean Sea on Monday.

"They (Hamas) conduct experiments and test their missiles. This is part of their program for the production of weapons," Interfax quoted the IDF statement.

The task of Hamas militants, according to the Israeli military, is to produce more weapons.

"We are watching every launch, defining its characteristics and range," an anonymous senior official of the Navy of the IDF told the Jerusalem Post earlier.
