Gazprom receives tranche of $1.65 billion from Naftogaz

In order to pay for the volumes of gas which have been delivered but not paid for yet, Gazprom has received $1.65 billion from Naftogaz Ukraine.

This was stated in a statement by the Ukrainian company. Thus, according to the agreements reached in Brussels, Naftogaz has paid $3.1 billion in two tranches for 11.5 billion cubic meters of gas, which were delivered by Gazprom in November and December last year and April-June 2014. The first payment of $1.45 billion was transferred on November 4.

This October Gazprom and Naftogaz reached an agreement on the resumption of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine on condition of repayment of Naftogaz's debt by $3.1 billion. In early December Naftogaz made an advance payment for the supply of Russian gas in December.
