Salt becomes more dangerous than heroin in Iran

According to Shakhram Rafifar, the head of the Enlightenment and Healthcare Development Directorate of the Iranian Healthcare Ministry, salt kills more people in the country than heroin, Trend reports.


He said that many people were dying of heart failure, brain hemorrhage and cancer. Many cases of such fatalities were caused by excessive salt consumption. Salt causes high blood pressure for every three out of ten people in Iran.
