Roskosmos may be liquidated

In the near future the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) may cease to exist and its functions will be transferred to the Joint Rocket and Space Corporation (ACCD) and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

"On the basis of ACCD and Roskosmos structures a corporation will be created similar to Rosatom, headed by Igor Komarov," Interfax quotes a source familiar with the situation.

The decision to create a new corporation may be taken in February. "It is planned to develop a specific roadmap for the formation of a new state corporation, the Government of the Russian Federation will provide monitoring of the implementation," he said.
