George Bush's condition improving

Former US President George H.W. Bush's condition is improving, although he will remain in a Houston hospital through the weekend, the family spokesman is quoted by Fox News as saying on Saturday.

Spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement released Saturday that the 90-year-old's condition has improved and possible dates for discharge were being discussed.

"President Bush's condition has improved to the point that doctors have begun discussing dates for his discharge," the statement read. "He will remain at the Houston Methodist Hospital through the weekend for further observation.
