Islamic State supporters arrested in Morocco

In various cities of Morocco security forces have carried out a series of arrests of supporters of the extremist group "Islamic State".

Police units, together with the staff of one of the largest security services of the kingdom - the Main Directorate of control over the national territory - identified and detained activists of the terrorist network linked to Islamic State.

According to the newspaper "Al-Ahdas al-Magribiyya", at least ten people were arrested in the cities of Tetouan, Fnideq and Martil. It's expected that all of them will later be transferred to the suburb of Rabat Salé, where they will appear before a special anti-terrorism tribunal.

In their comments, local observers and experts speak about large-scale security measures in Morocco to prevent possible attacks and acts of terrorism on the part of Islamic State, Tass reports.
