Congressman Michael Grimm resigns

U.S. Congressman Michael Grimm of the Republican Party has resigned over a scandal around his tax evasion. The congressman will appear in court in February 2015, suspected of concealing income of $1 million.

Grimm had owned own a restaurant in Manhattan before he was elected to the Congress in 2010. The congressman has already admitted responsibility for 20 points of the charges, including tax evasion, hiring of illegal migrants and telling lies under oath.
