Iranian oil minister wants to save gas

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said today that the country needed to start reducing gas consumption. He sent a letter to the radio station of the Islamic Republic and governors of provinces, Trend reports.


Zanganeh emphasized that the country was extracting 660 million cubic meters of gas daily. Domestic demand for gas limits supplies of industrial facilities.


Gas consumption in Iran reached 569 million cubic meters a day, as of December 21. 411 million cubic meters are consumed by households, 82 million by industry, 76 million by power plants.
