Georgia releases 255 convicts for New Year

The Georgian Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance has released 255 convicts for the New Year. Minister Mgebrishvili said that convicts serving time in jail, following penitentiary rules, actively participating in rehabilitation programs and acknowledging their responsibility for the crime were the priority candidates for amnesty, Interfax reports.


President Giorgi Margvelashvili has recently released 84 convicts.
