Pre-marriage medical examinations become compulsory in Azerbaijan

According to new laws adopted in Azerbaijan today, couples will now need to undergo compulsory medical examinations before getting marriage permits. Doctors will tell whether a couple has any diseases from the list composed by the government, APA reports.

State and municipal centers offer free genetic, psychological and family-planning consultations to couples willing to marry. Medical information from examinations will be confidential.
