Kanokov urges more youth work to prevent terrorism

Fighting terrorism should be carried out not only by force, but by educating the youth, the president of Kabardino-Balkaria, Arsen Kanokov, told the Kommersant newspaper.

The president said that without a proper state youth policy in the Caucasus the problem with terrorism in the republic cannot be solved.

Kanokov also mentioned figures on casualties in the fight with the militants. Since the beginning of 2010, 32 policemen have been killed, 50 people wounded, 21 criminals killed. The most dangerous regions are Elbrus and Baksan, the president said.
