Russia approves list of essential medicines

The RF cabinet of ministers has approved a new list of vital and essential medicines for 2015, which will replace the list of 2012, according to the website of the Russian government.

 

"The signed decree approves the list of vital and essential drugs for medical use in 2015," the decree signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev says, RIA Novosti reports.

 

It is noted that the list of drugs, "designed to provide individuals with hemophilia, cystic fibrosis, pituitary dwarfism, Gaucher disease, malignant neoplasms of lymphoid, haematopoietic and related tissue, multiple sclerosis, persons after the transplantation of organs and (or) tissues" is approved, and also the list of the medication prescribed by the decision of the medical commission of medical organizations.

 

Vital Essential and Necessary (VEN) Drugs is a list of drugs approved by the government of the Russian Federation for the purpose of state regulation of prices for medicines. The task of regulation is to increase access to medicines for the population and healthcare institutions.
