Prosecutor notes poor financing of Caucasus anti-corruption programs
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian Deputy General Prosecutor Ivan Sydoruk said in Gelendzhik that
the financing of anti-corruption programs in the South and North
Caucasus Federal Districts is insufficient, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that there is no anti-corruption program in Chechnya. The
number of corruption-related cases in the South Federal District (SFD)
dropped by 9.6%, and in the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD)
rose by 12%, but the statistics do not reflect the real state of
affairs, he said.
According to statistics, there were 3,800 corruption crimes registered
in the first half of 2010 in SFD and NCFD. 1,200 of them are bribery
related. There were 1,100 convictions.
Sydoruk reported that violations are common during investigations.
