Arson attack on Hamburger Morgenpost after it reprints Charlie Hebdo cartoons
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAt around 2am local time attackers threw stones and incendiary weapons into the building where the “Hamburger Morgenpost” newspaper is situated. Two rooms on the lower floors suffered damage, some files in the archive burned. However, the fire was put out quickly. According to the police, nobody was hurt. There was nobody in the building at the time of the attack. The police have arrested two possible suspects who were present in the area at the time of attack and were behaving suspiciously. The arson attack is possibly linked to the fact that the newspaper reprinted cartoons by Charlie Hebdo magazine caricaturists on its front page, headlined “This much freedom must be possible!”. However, the police haven’t commented on a connection between the attack and the reprinted cartoons.
