In Russia in 2015 taxes will not go up. At least, the government has no plans to increase them, although if the economic situation deteriorates there could be "strategic" decisions on the matter. This was said by Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov.

At the same time, according to the deputy minister, the government prefers to reduce costs instead of increasing the tax burden. "It's painful, but it's better than playing with taxes. In times of economic uncertainty it is essential to maintain an island of stability and confidence. Today, for private business it is extremely difficult to make investment decisions due to the currency, political, and other numerous risks. If we add to it tax risks , business activity may come to nothing," he said.

However, if the country is overtaken by "serious turmoil" in the fiscal sector there could be "strategic decisions". "The overall economic situation is alarming, but God forbid, we will do without a deep crisis. Otherwise strategic decisions are possible," he added.
