Azerbaijani citizens to be offered multiple bank accounts

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan is implementing the Financial Literacy project. Every 100,000 people in the country have about 20 points of bank services. The country continued development of financial mediation and infrastructure last year, augmenting financing of the national economy, according to President of the Central Bank Elman Rustamov, abc.az reports.

The number of borrowers has reached about 2 million people. The country has up to 4.5 million depositors. There are 473 depositors to every 1,000 citizens. Rustamov clarified that the goal was to make sure that every citizen reaching mature age has one or several accounts.
