Protesters in Armenia's Shirak fight with police

Activists involved in a motor protest in Gyumri have fought among each other and clashed with police near the provincial administrative center Shirak. The protesters demand the transfer to an Armenian detention center of Valery Permyakov, a soldier of the 102nd Russian military base serving within the framework of the CIS joint air defenses who is suspected of killing the Avetisyan family, News.am reports.

The murder suspect was apprehended around Bayandur, near the Armenian-Turkish border. Only a 6-month-old baby survived the attack on the family. The suspect is currently staying at the Russian base.
