Merkel will protect Muslims in Germany

All manifestations of anti-Semitism, as well as attacks on mosques in Germany, will be prosecuted. This was stated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel. She also stressed that she takes Muslims in the country under protection.

Today she spoke in the Bundestag with a government statement in which she expressed condolences to the relatives of those who were killed in the terrorist attacks in France and urged French people not to make dangerous generalizations for all Muslims.

The German parliament on Thursday paid tribute to the victims of the attacks with a minute of silence.

"There is no place for discrimination or differentiation. Therefore, we will consistently pursue anti-Semitic crimes with all available legal means. The same goes for attacks on mosques. This also will be consistently pursued. We will not allow ourselves to share views with those, who because of Islamist terror cast suspicion on all Muslims in Germany," RIA Novosti quotes Merkel.

However, she drew attention to the fact that every distinction on religious grounds in Germany, "every generalized suspicion is unthinkable."

“As German Chancellor I take the Muslims in our country under protection, and everyone in this building (Bundestag deputies) will do this as well," she summed up.
