Some 20 helicopter crews of Western Military District to have drills

About 20 crews of Mi-24 and Mi-8MTV-5 helicopters from the Leningrad, Pskov and Smolensk oblasts will prepare for drills in Elbrus in February. They will fly at an altitude of 3km, the highest altitude their machines can climb safely, according to Colonel Oleg Kochetkov, spokesman of the Western Military District, TASS reports.

The crews will practice emergency situations, such as failure of radio communications, engines, damage to radio and electronic equipment and the fuselage.
