European Union opens doors to Georgia

European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn said in Tbilisi today that the EU kept its doors open to Georgia so that it could expand its contacts, Trend reports.

 

Hahn characterized the EU Association Agreement with Georgia as an opportunity for Georgia to modernize. The commissioner noted that Georgia will need to comply with certain obligations and realize reforms in the sector of human rights and law. He added that the republic needed to implement values meeting European and international norms.
