Putin to maintain defenses without arms race

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a session of the Military and Industry Commission he heads that the country will maintain its defense potential without being involved in an arms race, Gazeta.ru reports.He stated that Russia had not been threatening anyone and was committed to resolving all differences in negotiations. Putin called for protection of national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.
