Meeting of Iranian and Syrian presidents takes place.

Syrian President Bashar Assad arrived today on a one-day visit to
Tehran and met with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, president of Iran,
mignews.com reports.

Ahmadinejad called on his Syrian colleague "to unite and strengthen
the front of resistance" in the Middle East. Assad, for his part, said
that the Palestinian-Israeli peace process is not evolving, and “its
only purpose is to strengthen the position of Barack Obama in the
United States."
