The next meeting of deputy foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea countries will take place in Baku on March 11 and 12, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Halaf Halafov told journalists. Trend news agency reports that the meeting will also involve representatives from the countries' border guards, customs services, and interior and emergencies ministries, as security issues will be discussed at the talks.

“If within the framework of these meetings we can reach agreement on some issues then these issues will be included in the agenda of the meeting of the presidents,” Halafov said. He added that preparations are ongoing for a meeting of the heads of state of Caspian countries, at which both the issue of status of the Caspian Sea and the issue of security in the Caspian region will be discussed.
