Georgia and Spain discuss military cooperation

Georgian Defense Minister Mindia Janelidze is on a visit to Spain, where he met his Spanish counterpart Pedro Morenes and discussed military cooperation, Trend reports. 

Janelidze thanked Spain for supporting Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and backing for its integration into the EU and NATO according to the special package granted at the Wales summit. 

He emphasized the importance of Spanish officers in the EU monitoring mission. 

The sides discussed cyber security, joint drills, cooperation in military education, participation of Georgian forces in peace missions in Afghanistan under the auspices of NATO and in Central Africa under the auspices of the EU. The Georgian delegation will visit a tank brigade base in Spain.
