The Ukrainian crisis has a negative impact on the process of a peace settlement in another conflict – the Syrian one, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"Objectively, it must be admitted that the continuation of the crisis in Ukraine has a negative impact on our cooperation with Western partners on the Syrian crisis," he is quoted by RIA Novosti.

"There is no serious and necessary cooperation between Russia and the West to find acceptable solutions for all parties to achieve an early settlement of the conflict in Ukraine," said the diplomat.

He noted that in the West there is a tendency to assess the impact of the crisis on Ukraine to events in Iraq and Syria in another way. "We hear some of our Western partners’ assertions, that there is no connection between all these crises. However, other suggestions confirm that there is such a connection," Bogdanov claimed.
