"We support the territorial integrity of all countries, and we want all countries to support our territorial integrity"Orhan Sattarov, the director of the European Bureau of "Vestnik Kavkaza"From January 20-21, the president of Azerbaijan held talks in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the chairman of the Munich International Security Conference Wolfgang Fredrik Ischinger, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the country Frank-Walter Steinmeier, as well as with members of the Bundestag and members of the German-Azerbaijani Forum.A journalist of TV channel ZDF asked Ilham Aliyev a critical question about violations of freedom of speech in Azerbaijan and asked the opinion of the president about the possibility of restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine. President Aliyev said the following: "With regard to the question of freedom in the country, all rights are being respected in Azerbaijan. Freedom of speech is provided one hundred percent, hundreds of media outlets work in Azerbaijan. At the same time, there are no restrictions on the internet in Azerbaijan. Our Internet is free and there is no censorship, and the number of Internet users in the country is close to 75%. The same applies to the question of mass meetings: various political groups are free to organize rallies. In general, in recent years there has been a considerable development of democracy in Azerbaijan, and, of course, for us this is extremely important, because I believe that political and economic reforms should be carried out in parallel. Only through such a process can the country achieve long-term success. "As for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the position of Baku is to support the territorial integrity of all countries. "And, of course, we want all countries to maintain our territorial integrity, which has been violated by Armenia for the past 20 years,"Ilham Aliyev said.In her turn, Angela Merkel, commenting on the Ukrainian events, said: "The situation in Ukraine is very difficult. As you can see, the ceasefire in Ukraine is becoming increasingly fragile and, at the moment, we are rather moving away from the Minsk compliance arrangements than becoming closer to them. The Minsk agreements at the same time remain the foundation for the negotiations, and so far all negotiators confirm their commitment to these principles, and I hope it will remain like that."To be continued.
