Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko gave a negative answer to Vitaly Milonov's proposal to name one of the city's streets after the first Chechen president Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov.

"With all due respect to the identity of Akhmad-Hadji Kadyrov you should admit that he was not directly involved in the life of St. Petersburg," Fontanka.ru cited the governor.

In addition, the mayor referred to a survey of Fontanka.ru readers: 84% of respondents said they did not welcome Milonov's initiative.

However, Poltavchenko ordered the Committee on Culture to solve the problem of assigning one of the city's facilities with Akhmad Kadyrov's name.
