Islam does not justify terrorism and aggression, says U.S. ambassador

U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft has praised the work of the Central Spiritual Muslim Board of Russia and the Russian Muftis Council and encouraged believers to spread good-neighbourly ideas at a meeting with Ravil Gaynutdin, the head of the organizations, TASS reports. 

The diplomat expressed confidence that Islam was a peaceful religion opposed to terrorism and aggression. Gaynutdin assured that the problem of extremism and terrorism could be solved through cooperation between all people.
